sobe in Croatia

Search for it. I think it’s the best way to find cost effective, decent room for sleep during yours visiting to Croatia.

I had read in some travel forums that it's a good idea to try staying in sobes along the  Croatian Adriatic Sea.

Sobes (pronounced SO-bays), are rooms for rent in private homes. They range from $10 to $60 a night and may be the most authentic way to experience the country's stunning beauty. August is a busy time and prices are a little higher but still affordable. Sobes are identified by clearly marked signs posted outside homes and are also advertised by men and women who greet tourists at ferry, bus and train terminals with signs  "SOBE“  and  shouted, "Need a room?" or "SO-bays”.

U can choose between  basic (cheaper) and luxurious (higher price). Chose from hostel-like, small bedrooms in people's homes. private apartments in unbeatable locations.

But unlike hostels, you're not sleeping in the same room as others, or on bunk beds.

There are so many sobes that you can arrive unannounced and knock on doors or get swept up by those waiting for you at the bus. Or, rent for the 3 day minimum and use the time to find another place.
