Brač is an island in the Adriatic Sea within Croatia, with an area of 396 km², making it the largest island in Dalmatia, and the third largest in the Adriatic. Its tallest peak, Vidova Gora, or Mount St. Vid, stands at 778 m, making it the highest island point in the Adriatic. The island has a population of 13,000, living in numerous settlements, ranging from the main town Supetar, with more than 3,500 inhabitants, to Novo Selo, where only a dozen people live. Bol Airport on Brač is the largest airport of all islands surrounding Split.

Supetar  is a town on the northern side of the island of Brač, It became the island's official centre in 1827. The Municipality of Supetar also includes the town Supetar and three places SplitskaŠkrip and Mirca.

With a population of 3,062, it is the island's largest and fastest-expanding town with dozens of apartments being built every year. It is accessible via 45 minute ferry via Jadrolinija from the mainland city of Split. The official language is Croatian, however most inhabitants also speak EnglishItalian and German.
